Why You Need To Fear This The Most
As we head into the Autumn Season (yesterday was the first day of autumn 2015), it made me think of a quote I have heard. That quote is going to be our Everyday Inspiration today.
Living in Minnesota, Fall is its own unique season. It holds breath taking beauty, a chill in the air, a crisp breeze, bountiful garden harvests.
All of spring and summer’s rain and sunshine culminate now in the harvest of our gardens. The birds, bees and insects that I have watched all summer are slowly leaving for their warmer southern months.
We tend to slow down, get back to matters at hand and get ready for the stillness of winter.
I am not sure why this all reminds me of our inspiration today, but it does…so here goes and I will give you my explanation after.
“Fear Regret More Than Failure” ~ Taryn Rose ~
What in the world does that have to do with Fall? I guess for me, having come through spring and summer….A time of beauty, warmth, growth, excitement, change of routine, longer days and much longer evenings, the air alive with the hum and activities of insects, animals, birds, people outside and passionate about their activities!
Knowing that the “slow down” is coming, it made me think “What if this were the end of my life?”, “What would my legacy be that I leave behind?” Not that I plan on dying any time soon, but “What if?” (Seriously, I have even gotten my BP under control this summer! I'll be around for awhile. Hehe)
Where has my growth been and what have I done with that new knowledge?
To me, failure simply means trying new things and figuring out what and how to go about achieving it.
It doesn’t mean that I actually failed as a human being, it means I wasn’t able to find the solution that worked today.
So keep looking, keep trying, keep listening and all will come together. Failure is simply part of the learning process and can teach us the most important lessons of all. How NOT to do something.
Regret on the other hand is completely different. Here is the meaning of “Regret” in an online dictionary:
Regret??? Now that scares the shit out of me. I do not want to walk away with regret in my heart…now…or ever.
It is up to me each day to take care of; myself, my psyche, my personal growth, and put all into practice to the best of my ability. I have a responsibility to be the best that I can be. To myself and everyone around and impacted by me.
I must know in my heart….I make a difference…. Somehow, someway, somewhere, someone, something….
I look forward to much growth and renewal time with the coming stillness of winter….
