Does being healthy, living healthy, eating healthy suck??
Do you think putting the work and thought into being healthy, eating healthy, and living healthy sucks?
I certainly have not been the best at being consistent with healthy living….until I started getting older and things just started changing….on their own volition….in their own way….ways I never even thought about!! *smile*
Tim and I have been making an effort to incorporate healthy living and eating as a whole package and having fun at the same time!
“Healthy Doesn't Have To Suck!” ~ Greatist
It really doesn't!! But it does take thought, commitment and planning.
We incorporate exercise into our daily routine. We both plank a few minutes a day (good for core muscles) and walk or hike our dog, Mazie (she is quite svelte). We walk whenever we can by parking at the back of parking lots, taking the stairs instead of elevator, walking instead of riding the moving walk-ways. We are always looking for ways to keep moving!
I am going to incorporate yoga. I have never done yoga before….do you know any good programs that this midlife, uncoordinated, newbie can do? Please leave me a comment…..
For the most part, we eat healthy….all thanks to Tim's prowess with spices and texture!! (I really have to whine now to get anything fried…..and then only in olive or coconut oil!!) He uses vast amounts of vegetables, greens and fruit and tries to keep our diet alkaline.
This time of year we are busy gathering our garden harvest and making big pots of soups and sauces to freeze for the winter months. We usually do this together and talk about our business or listen to a business webinar and just make it fun and learn at the same time.
I also meditate every day. I believe sound mind and body work hand in hand. (Actually I have to keep my mind sound so I believe this healthy eating is the way to go! *smile*) We both spend time daily on personal development and reading.
So…does healthy have to suck? NO!!
Make it fun and enjoyable.
For me, it is enjoyable because I can see and feel the benefits!! I may be a mid-lifer but I have much to do yet and grandkids to keep up with!
What have you incorporated into your day? Any special exercises, recipes, routines, etc that you can share?
We are adding to our list and will be providing you regularly scheduled posts of with a variety of fun and thought provoking themes to help lift you or a friend up!
Be the extraordinary you!
